Information warfare is a global phenomenon ındependent of political regimes - Mikhail Gusman

Information warfare is a phenomenon that affects all countries, irrespective of their political regimes. Some countries are more active in this realm than others. Unlike conventional conflicts, information warfare is perpetual and requires constant vigilance, said Mikhail Gusman, First Deputy Director General of Russia's TASS news agency, during the panel discussion titled " Impact Assessment: Understanding the Reach of Disinformation" at the Second Shusha Global Media Forum.

Describing misinformation as a potent tool of information warfare, Mikhail Gusman emphasized: "Today, vast numbers of people consume massive amounts of information via their phones. However, in societies unprepared for this, fake news is accepted as accurate information.” According to him, news agencies should prioritize the dissemination of authentic information rather than covering propaganda.
